Enfield P53

British Enfield P 1853  (1861) with non British bayonet percussion rifle with a calibur of .577. The Enfield Pattern 1853 rifled musket was used by the British Empire from 1853 to 1867.

The crown and VR on the lock are clearly visible but a little worn, whilst the Tower and date (1861) are somewhat more worn but can still be seen. The firing mechanism is in good working order.

The 39 in (99 cm) barrel has three distinct grooves, and is fastened to the stock with three metal bands (three band model).

The adjustable ladder rear sight has four steps from 100 yards (91 m) to 400 yards (370 m). For further distances (up to 1 km), there is an adjustable flip-up blade sight.

The bayonet fits very well, but it is not British.
